Research Profile

(Atmospheric Observations)

I am Garima Shukla, a researcher in Atmospheric Sciences at the CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography, India. My research focuses on understanding the chemical composition, sources, and transport of atmospheric aerosols and their impact on climate and the oceanic environment. I use a combination of global reanalysis data and on-board ship measurements to study aerosols chemistry over the North Indian Ocean

My work encompasses a broad range of topics, including the study of mineral dust deposition in the Indian Ocean, the identification of continental outflow in different monsoonal pattern over the remote marine region, and the characterization of major aerosol sources over the North Indian Ocean. Through my publications in journals like the International Journal of Remote Sensing, Atmospheric Environment, and Atmospheric Pollution Research, I aim to contribute to a greater understanding of atmospheric processes and their complex interactions with the Earth system. I hope you find the information here useful.
